White Goods

With the global warming,air conditioners play an important role in white goods.

In view of the threat brought by global warming,the power efficiency of air conditioning systems play an increasingly pivotal role among all the major household appliances (a.k.a.white goods).A typical ductless mini- split air conditioning system for a room to be cooled is comprised of three key sub-system:

1.A power supply electric baseboard
2.An indoor unit which houses the evaporator coil and fan blower
3.An outdoor unit which houses the condenser coil

In the power supply electric baseboard,JJM offers to system designers many of the suitable opto-couplers with high isolation voltage barrier (VISO_Max).These provide a robust electrical separation between the PWM and PFC sub-systems.

In the indoor unit,the on-board MCU controls the fan blower through the opto-coupler.and the evaporator unit through the opto-coupler which is custom-designed to operate well with SCR Triac switches and related circuits.This unit sucks in warm air from inside the house.absorbs the heat and moisture from the air.then blows the cold air right back into the room.Simultaneously,the unit sends all the heat and moisture collected to the outdoor unit.The opto-coupler plays an important role to isolate the MCU whose supply voltage sits at low level (i.e.VCC s 5V)from the electrical circuits of the fan blower the condenser whose supply voltage sits at high level (i.e.VCC >6V).The electrical isolation ensures reliable operation of the overall system.JJM offers to system designers many of the suitable opto-couplers and SCR Triacs switches.

In the outdoor unit,motors used in the condenser and fan blower are controlled by the MCUs on-board.This unit receives all the heat from inside the room and dump them into the air outdoor.For this purpose,JJM offers to system designers many of the suitable opto-couplers and SCR/Triacs switches.

Motor driving is a key part of many household appliances.The following aspects are always considered critical in motor driving:long-term operation reliability,power efficiency,the use of environmental-friendly materials during manufacturing,function and performance,optimal production cost.Therefore,in the design of many household appliances including the air conditioners,sufficient electrical isolation between MCUs and the related peripheral circuits have to be accommodated,reasonable level of safe guards must be in place to minimize unexpected electrical interference over the control signals running between the MCUs the motor units being driven.JJM offers many discrete components (MOSFETs,rectifiers,TVS,zener diodes,opto-couplers,etc.)for such applications.
